You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Kindergarten Tip Off

Kindergarten Tip Off

Hancock County, Mississippi

These kids have skill. These are the future NBA and WNBA players. Before this I have never watched kindergarten basketball. It’s quite adorable! The final score was 3-2 in favor of the blue and green team. I was cheering for the red and blue who Ethan was playing for, the grandson of my Gulfport host. The score was 3-0 with seconds left on the clock. Ethan had missed every shot he attempted. The buzzer was about to go off and he takes one last shot and sinks it, AT THE BUZZER! A kindergarten basketball game with a buzzer shot, it was amazing. If only it was a 3-pointer. It was a tough ending as it was the championship game. One little girl had tears in her eyes. I remember many tears growing up playing hockey and losing in tournaments, but it was a great lesson for years to come.
