Ooh is this 'light painting' or something on photoshop? I heard abut some guy who did that but wasn't sure exactly what it entailed.

its just a long exposure on a camera and wrote in the air with some sort of light, maybe an led light.

Right on Dan. No software needed barb. Tripod + long exposure + light source = really fun photography. Anyone can give it a try. But believe me, it takes a lot of practice to spell something backwards, frame it correctly, etc. This took about 15 shots before I got one that was satisfactory.
