You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

High School Mania

Friday, Oct 20, 2006 from Casper, Wyoming

How lucky am I to hang out with five crazy high school girls for a few days? A lot of my time here in Casper has been spent with Jeanette and her friends. It involved tie-dying with her friends for the big Oil Bowl game they have tomorrow night against their rival school here in town. We also took a trip up to the peak again on a clear night. And the coolest part was hanging out with them in band class yesterday. Since I’m trying to see how people live and all of that jazz they said why not have me just sit and watch band class. Well it was pretty entertaining. A casual class, a good teacher, and all ages from freshman to seniors.

It was at the band class that I met the Dynamic Five-Some (DFS). It consists of Jette (senior), Liz (senior), Rachel (Junior), Mir (or Miranda, sophomore), and Lizzie (sophomore). I have a hard time keeping up with them. First of all they speak faster than my brain can process, and I don’t know if I’ve ever had the energy level that they do.

Today I made about 50 new friends in chemistry class. Alright, I don’t know any of their names, but I got the chance to speak to two chemistry classes and give them the low down of what I’m doing. I’m really not that much older than them and it brings me back to high school. Class in high school rocked, at least when you had a good teacher. You learned a lot, but it was casual, lots of chatting, and just enjoyable. Anyways… there’s still a big difference when you go through five years at college.

So thank you for putting up with me Kelly Walsh High School for putting up with me for a couple days. Just one more class to talk to tomorrow and the big Oil Bowl tomorrow evening. I’ll proudly be wearing green and gold. GO TROJANS!
