You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Thank You Wisconsin

Thursday, Sep 14, 2006 from Madison, Wisconsin

Thank you Wisconsin. You have been a neighboring state to me my whole life and I didn’t get to see very much of you. Well this week I learned a lot about you. I have to say Wisconsin, you did a great job kicking off this trip. So thank you for being the first state to host me. Now it’s time to move onward, to Illinois.

My time in Wisconsin was represented by 21-26 year olds. In Milwaukee I spent my time with recent college graduates. Some of those graduates went to UW Madison, where I am now. So I took off a couple years off the first hosts by coming to Madison, spending time with some seniors at the university. I found a lot of similarities with MSU. The girls thought they were showing and telling me a lot of new things with the college experience in Madison, but really, they weren’t that much different than MSU.

It’s been a great first week. I can’t say that I’m a “Sconnie,” but now I have some great friends who are when I come back sometime. Once again thank you Wisconsin. One state down and 49 to go. -xo
