You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Brewing Around

Sunday, Sep 10, 2006 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

It’s a cold rainy day in Milwaukee. One of those perfect days to sit around, eat, nap, watch TV, and basically be lazy. This evening we’re relaxing around the house. It’s pretty cozy in this big chair Anah and Dan have.

This afternoon Dan and I went to the Mitchell Park Conservatory, where they have three domes with different ecosystems. So in one afternoon I went from floral gardens, to the desert, and then to the rain forest. Not bad for one day. I snapped quite a few photos of the various plants. However, it’s strange to be photographing tropical plants in the middle of Milwaukee, but hey, why not. The diversity of all the plants that the world produces is stunning. I kind of stood there and scratched my head at some of the plants.

Afterwards Dan and I thought it’d be cool to check out Miller Park where the Milwaukee Brewers play. I wasn’t going to pass that up. I had never been to a Major League Baseball stadium before today. Luck was on our side today as there was a door open in the front. The game was over an hour earlier and we walked right in with nobody around and headed right down to the front row by the dugout. It was kind of surreal. It’s a feeling I get in any big stadium. Even though it was empty I was imagining thousands of screaming fans and a ball being smashed over the wall for a homerun. I’ll still get to a professional baseball game sometime. I’m sure of it. And I think it would be a lot better to watch in person than on TV after being in the stadium.

I’ll be cheering for the local team wherever I am on this trip. Unless of course it’s against Michigan State or the Red Wings. As for now… Go Brewers! -xo

I see you had a "just imagine" moment today in the Brewer's Stadium! Makes me smile! You are sure to have plenty of those on this trip!
