You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared when launched in 2006. Back then, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few changes were made, but it appears as it did eleven years ago. A modern and responsive version is in the works. See what I've been up to for the last ten years at www.bugsy.me |

Color Names and the PRTWednesday, Aug 8, 2007 from Morgantown, West VirginiaSo I went to Blue Hole, some people call it Green Hole or Brown Hole. Last week Christian was naming his Webkins when he was adopting them online, he names them things like Pink Nose for the little kitten, Black Nose for the black lab, and the list goes on. Well now I’ve stopped into a couple places here in Morgantown including a café called the Blue Moose and a restaurant called the Black Bear (both of which are fantastic local places, be sure to stop in if you’re in the area). I see a theme here. This stop in West Virginia has been great. Ryan took me on a tour of the West Virginia campus. College campuses are college campuses everywhere you go. I’ve seen a lot on this trip. Some that are fantastic, some that are bland. Well WVU has something that no other campus has, Personal Rapid Transit, more commonly known as the PRT. I haven’t seen anything else like it. At first I was expecting something like a monorail. But then I go up on the track and these little boxy carts were actually built on regular wheels. For some reason it was like I stepped into the future, but it was the future of 1975 when it was built. It’s one of those things that was an experiment and be a transportation revolution changing how we move about cities. But why Morgantown, WV? It seems quite odd and out of place compared to so many of the cities I have been to. But I’ve got PRT pride! It was fun to ride. Another mode of transportation that has been used on my trip. ![]() ![]() ![]() From Hancock, MI
