You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Nap #4

Thursday, Nov 9, 2006 from Seattle, Washington

I left home two months ago today and I finally got to take my fourth nap, at least my fourth real nap. I’ve fallen asleep in a car here and there while in the passenger seat, passed out for a few minutes here and there along the way when I had the chance. But it’s been go go go!

Oh the naps I’ve been wanting to take! I took one in Milwaukee at Anah and Dan’s house in a chair in the corner after a long night and it was a gross rainy day. Then I took one in Sioux Falls at Dixie and Dave’s I took one long one during the MSU vs. OSU football game at the ranch in Montana. And now one today at Nicole’s in Seattle.

I love my naps and I don’t get many. This trip takes a lot of energy, discipline, and brain usage. When you’re in a new environment all the time your brain does a lot more work and tires out faster. My motto is, “Live hard, sleep well, enjoy.” That’s being fulfilled. I sleep great at night, like a little baby.

The typical day is pretty busy, either driving from one place to another, site-seeing, eating one pound hamburgers, or chasing cattle. After a great busy day I’m always relieved to get back and sit down and relax and thinking about going to bed. But when everyone is going to bed that’s when my work day begins usually. That’s the time I have to update the blog and photos, respond to e-mails, read up on news, etc. Last night I couldn’t hold my eyes open to type. So here I am this afternoon.

Live hard, sleep well, enjoy.
