You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared when launched in 2006. Back then, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few changes were made, but it appears as it did eleven years ago. A modern and responsive version is in the works. See what I've been up to for the last ten years at www.bugsy.me |

Getting LostWednesday, Nov 8, 2006 from Seattle, WashingtonAnother rainy day. Since I’ve had the day to myself I told myself this afternoon, “I’m going to try and get lost in Seattle.” Growing up in the the Upper Peninsula of Michigan I don’t exactly have much city driving experience. The city is always kind of foreign to me. I used a consider a town like Marquette a big city with only 22,000 people. This city thing will always be weird to me, but I love it. Driving to and through New York City during spring break this year made me a much better city driver. As for today I wanted to get lost. I wanted to see the downtown area, go where the road goes, and maybe get a little advertising in for the tour and the Compass. So I drove around, a few circles here, take a right here, a left here, another left, until I didn’t really know what direction I was facing. And I just drove around in the rain enjoying it. I had to set out on my own and get a feel for the city. I wasn’t out to take photos, just to observe, seek, and enjoy. Still not quite sure if I could live in a metropolis. I love it, it’s great here. But, the traffic, the parking chaos, I think I’d get tired of it real fast. At some point soon after this trip I’m going to have to live in a huge city for a while to see how I like it. To wrap up this quick little driving adventure I didn’t get as lost as I thought I would. I’m impressed with myself. By chance I came out a couple streets here or there and saw some signs for the freeway when I was headed back. And sure enough, as I got back to Nicole’s apartment the hard rain actually stopped. I truly believe that one of the best ways to see a place is to get yourself lost. ![]() ![]() ![]() From Boise, ID
