You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

The American Diner

Monday, Jan 8, 2007 from Ogden, Utah

As for some more side notes… this morning John and I went out to breakfast at a local diner. I have to say that one of my favorite things on this trip has been going to local diners all across the country. It’s a true treat to find great locally owned diner. The strange thing is that I never used to like omelets, now it’s all I want when I go out to eat. But of all the omelets there are two that stand out, the first one I ever had in Milwaukee with Dan and then the one I had in Seattle at one of the top ten pig-out places in the country. Sadly the IHOPs and Denny’s are taking over the local diners across the country. But I can’t wait until I’m a local somewhere, then I can be a regular that comes into a diner and is called by first name and they ask, “Will it be the usual Bugsy?” The first step to all of that is I actually have to settle down and be a local somewhere. At this pace that’s not going to happen anytime soon.
