-Bugsy You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

For the Love of SnowWednesday, Jan 10, 2007 from Ogden, UtahThere is something different about the air in the mountains during the winter with snow on the ground. It doesn’t matter if it’s sunny or snowing, the air is just different. In my humble opinion it is the freshest air in the world. Maybe it has something to do with the elevation. I’ve only been in the mountains when there is snow, never without, so maybe snow has nothing to do with, I wouldn’t know. But, for the love of snow that I have, it makes everything a little better. That brings me to snowboarding, my greatest passion of a sort. I wish snowboarding was my life, but it’s not. When I’m asleep at night there is nothing that fills my dreams more than snowboarding. As a boy my dream was to be an NHL player. As a teen my dream was to be a professional snowboarder. Well those didn’t come true and I’ve learned that as we all grow older that dreams change. I came across a slightly more sophisticated dream, a year long 50-state road trip staying with people I’ve never met. Well, that’s the dream I’m living. While living one dream other things have to be sacrificed, and one of those things on this trip is snowboarding and my love for snow and winter. There has never been anything else in my life like snowboarding, the way it relaxes me, frees me of all my worries and stress, and I forget about everything else out there. So this entire little rant is just to provide some type of background for my next blog entry, because today I got to go snowboarding.
Comment by Sam From Edinburgh, UK Hi, You're not alone in you love for snow. For some reason, depsite being from the UK, a country that doesn't get much in the way of snow, I seem to have developed a deep love for the white stuff. You seem to be a traveller and a snow lover, so you might want to take a look at www.SnowSphere.com - a travel magazine for skiers and snowboaders, that features "off the beaten piste" locations, from India to Iceland. Good luck with the rest of the trip. |
