A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Lago Vista Livin'Sunday, Mar 11, 2007 from Lago Vista, TexasIt’s a rainy afternoon here in Lago Vista. And I like it. Rain makes the air fresh and the Earth green. I"m chilling in the basement in the house of my latest hosts. The door is wide open with a nice cool breeze coming in. After temperatures in the mid 80s yesterday today feels like a nice lazy summer day. It’s a little cooler which is nice and since it’s raining there isn’t much that I can do outside. That gives me an excuse to put my feet open, open a book, and just relax while listening to the rain. It’s almost perfect. My stay here in Lago Vista, TX is another Michigan State connection. I’m staying with Meredith (also an MSU grad with an advertising degree) and Larry, who have been living in Lago Vista for only a few years. They are both artists, the first professional artists I’ve stayed with on the trip. Meredith works with pastels while Larry is a jeweler. When they’re not at their home they’re usually out at different art shows across the country. They have just returned from a few shows in Florida. The house is nicely decorated with unique pieces from various artists and genres. It’s quite cozy, especially the bed. One of the nicest beds of the trip so far. Lago Vista is a great little town. Built into the hills outside of Austin it’s a town of only about 4,500 people. Rather than square block neighborhoods, the houses are built in every direction along the hills making it much more unique. I’m learning all about what kind of community and neighborhood I want to live in one day. Quite frankly I think I could make myself quite comfortable here in Lago Vista. It’s nicely secluded yet with several neighbors, lots of trees around, big hills, nice views, and it’s just a short drive from Austin.
