A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Arriving in TexasTuesday, Mar 6, 2007 from Plano, TexasLast night I checked off my arrival to the 24th state, Texas. Here in Plano I’m staying with Bill and Debby. Debby is the daughter of some good family friends we attend church with back home. And it was great last night to visit with some fellow Yoopers. Although Bill and Debby have lived in Texas for a long time and raised their kids here, they both grew up in the Upper Peninsula. Bill went to Baraga High School and Debby went to L’Anse. When I arrived they also had their friends Fred and Carol visiting. Fred also went to Baraga and Carol went to L’Anse. To be in Texas and talking about people back home and all the towns and places is a great feeling. It’s relieving to be able to talk about the U.P. with people who are familiar with it. It’s not often I have a conversation with people on this trip where towns like White Pine, Negaunee, Alston, and Ishpeming come up. Winter is definitely over for me this year. While it’s in the single digits back home in Michigan it is in the 70s here. It’s time to dig out my shorts and sandals again. The last time I had my sandals on was when I was in Hawaii. I should be able to save a decent amount of space in the Compass if I send all my winter clothes home.
Comment by Mom From Baraga, MI Hey Bugsy, if you meet us in Gatlinburg in 3 weeks, we can not only bring all your winter clothes home, but I will cook you chicken fahita pizza! (not that I'm trying to bribe you or anything.....) Enjoy Texas! |
