You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

My Fort Knox

Saturday, Mar 31, 2007 from Knoxville, Tennessee

Yesterday I arrived at host #18347. Ok, it hasn’t been that many yet, but it’s getting close. This stop brings me to Knoxville, TN. Knoxville is the third largest city in the state of Tennessee. Its known for the pink marble and being The Underwear Capital of the World.

My hosts here are Krystyn and Oscar. They were very kind in letting me stay here last minute when they are very busy. I hadn’t planned to make it to Tennessee until summer. But it wouldn’t be a true road trip without spontaneous 600 mile drives at 2:30am that take you away from your plans. Krystyn and Oscar moved into this house only a week ago. That makes me their first official houseguest. A brand new house and work aren’t the only things keeping them both busy. On April 28th they will be tying the knot with a wedding. Maybe I can get a few pointers on planning my own wedding.

Krystyn first heard about my little road trip months ago through the wonderful grape vine; the the network of bloggers. Krystyn was first referred to my website through her blogging friend Kristi in Minnesota. Word spreads fast through blogs and I am thankful for the support of both Krystyn and Kristi and many other bloggers across the country.
