You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Bugsy is MIA

Monday, Mar 26, 2007 from Gatlinburg, Tennessee

The website has been stagnant. According to the site I have been in Hammond, LA for a long time! When in fact I didn’t actually spend a single night in Hammond, it was Ponchatoula where I was staying. So now I am here in Gatlinburg, TN with my parents. We’re staying at the Mountain Loft Resort and this is the only glimpse of a vacation I’ve had on the trip. I am realizing how much I needed this.

However, I’m always trying to do some work. I had no internet access when I was in Gulfport and I don’t here either. I didn’t expect to in Gulfport, everything was destroyed. But I’m quite shocked that I don’t have it at a resort. They have WiFi at the lodge, but its not working, go figure. If it was working I wouldn’t give them a dime of my money, it’s $10 for a 24-hour block. That’s absurd. I’ve never heard of a WiFi plan like that. If it was $10 for 24 hours of use as you used it, which would work pretty well. But c’mon, who’s going to sit their online for 24 hours, or even a few hours. C’mon Mountain Loft, that’s just not right.

The point I’m trying to get at is when I don’t have internet access things don’t get done on the website, e-mails don’t get answered, and a load of other things. Yeah, I’ll admit that I’m quite dependent, but the internet makes the difference on a trip like this, where I am in touch with people across the entire country, coast to coast and north to south.

Sorry to my readers who have been patiently waiting for more blog entries, photos, and the weekly newsletter. There is plenty more content on the way, even if I am on a “vacation.”

$30 for 24 hours in Belgium! I don't care how hot that spot is, that's a rip-off. Fortunately the one I'm using right now is free of charge.

I'm so happy you took the vacation!

I was down in Gulfport last Spring. I know that little town took the brunt of Katrina. I stayed in a house not even .5 miles from the gulf. 10 feet of water surged through the neighborhood. Unbelievable.
