-Bugsy You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Big OwlsSaturday, Mar 31, 2007 from Knoxville, TennesseeIf a class of students was asked, “What makes up the United States?” every response would be different. Of course there are our rights and freedom. There are the beautiful national parks that scatter this huge country. There is Hollywood and New York City. There is the American diner and roadside attractions. The list could go on forever. Tonight I can check one more item off that list. Hooters. Not only was it my first time eating at Hooters on this trip, it was my first time EVER eating at Hooters. How did I manage to make it five years through college and never go to Hooters? Everyone knows Hooters are known for two things, first of all their tasty wings. Secondly, I was very disappointed; I didn’t see a single owl in the entire restaurant. Can you believe that? It was a big let down. Clearly the name of the restaurant does not live up to itself. There is no denying that Hooters is a big slice of the American pie (or pizza, or cake, either way you like your slices, personally I prefer raspberry pie, in fact I once stole an entire raspberry pie from Hubbard Hall) in the United States. I was actually wearing my Eskimo Joe’s t-shirt while at Hooters, which is the 2nd best-selling t-shirt in the world. First is Hard Rock Café. My guess is that Hooters’ t-shirts are in the top five if not 3rd. That’s one thing you can’t deny in the United States, themed restaurants with great selling t-shirts. |
