You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Sioux Falls Derby Dolls

Friday, Oct 6, 2006 from Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Before I even met my host family in South Dakota I met their good friend Jayme first. Jayme is an ambitious and very extroverted person, she’s got two cute daughters and is married to Devon. So there’s a brief description, now let’s get to the good stuff.

Jayme and a couple of her friends are in the works of starting the first South Dakota all girls roller derby league. My hat goes off to Jayme, It’s one of the coolest things I’ve heard of someone trying to start. It’s pretty easy to relate to what Jayme is doing. As I put my foot forward with this trip I had a lot of work cut out for me, but I went about it the right way and made it happen, and I think Jayme is doing the same.

I can’t say that I know much about roller derby, but I know that it should make a come back. The girls I met are all throwing their derby names around trying to think of the wittiest and most intimidating names.

So check it out everyone, especially if you’re in the South Dakota and Sioux Falls area. Keep up the hard work Jayme and crew.
