-Bugsy You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Blog ArchiveA Day To RememberNov 16, 2006 from Roseburg, OregonHave you ever had a day where you sit back at the end of it and are in awe of what just happened? That’s me right now. Everyone here at the house is in bed, nice and tidy in bed. I’m exhausted but as awake as can be form the adrenaline still pumping inside me. It’s not from a roller coaster or anything crazy. It’s from an amazing day that will never be forgotten, and the people of Roseburg gave that to me. … Posted: Nov 16, 2006 | Post a commentVariety Night with BrentNov 15, 2006 from Roseburg, OregonTonight was variety night, I was the audience, and Randy’s housemate Brent was the entertainer. Brent is a guy with many talents. You may not expect it. He definitely reminds me of my friend Bob, who could walk on his hands for long distances, juggle, play guitar, and list random facts about Bruce Lee, and of course Bob has a very sporadic personality, random and all over the place.
First, Brent slammed on the drums for a little while getting out some energy. … Posted: Nov 15, 2006 | Post a commentAfternoon DriveNov 15, 2006 from Roseburg, OregonToday I headed out to Crater Lake, about a drive of 85 miles from Roseburg. And wow am I lucky. I haven’t seen weather like this in about 10 days or more. The sun was out, blue sky, only a few clouds, it was perfect. So thank goodness I took this drive today and not yesterday. As for the rest of the week it looks like more rain. It was a perfect little break in the storm. … Posted: Nov 15, 2006 | Post a commentWelcomed to RoseburgNov 14, 2006 from Roseburg, OregonRoseburg is welcoming me as an entire town, not just a few people. There are a couple signs around town that say “Welcome Justin Sailor” that everyone reads as they drive by. They’ve already heard me on the radio once and are probably going to be sick of hearing about me by the time I leave.
I’m staying with Randy in Roseburg who is a DJ for Best Country 103 here in Roseburg. … Posted: Nov 14, 2006 | Post a commentThe Oregon CoastNov 13, 2006 from Roseburg, OregonI’m in love with Oregon. The ocean. The cliffs. The forest. The mountains. I may have found a new home. The coast in Oregon is breathtaking. I was truly speechless. I ran up the beach with my arms in the air at Cannon Beach. Though I was really wishing I had someone there with me to make some memories with. It was perfect. The wind was very strong, strong enough to blow over my camera and tripod. … Posted: Nov 13, 2006 | Post a commentThe Pacific Ocean!Nov 11, 2006 from Long Beach, WashingtonI made it to the Pacific Ocean! This is the most liberating feeling of the trip. Freedom! The big crashing waves, the long open beach, a gloomy day with clouds and rain, and a strong wind that just seemed to blow everything else away at the moment. I had no concerns, no thoughts, just in absolute love with everything around me. I can’t describe it.
Reaching it to the ocean is the greatest milestone of the trip to this point. … Posted: Nov 11, 2006 | Post a commentSeattle Wrap UpNov 11, 2006 from Seattle, WashingtonThis morning I hit the road and head to Oregon. My last evening in Seattle was spent with Anne and Rod. Anne is the sister of one of my mom’s good friends from home. Anne and Rod are both in their sixties and live in West Seattle where they have a beautiful view of the water. And she showed pictures to me to prove that on a clear day you can see across to water to the booming mountains of the Olympic Mountains. … Posted: Nov 11, 2006 | Post a commentA Taste of SeattleNov 10, 2006 from Seattle, WashingtonLast night I met up with Chris who is a Michigan State graduate of 1980. He lives in Green Lake, Seattle with his daughter who just graduated from college and works at Microsoft and his twin boys who are 14. Chris heard about my project from his sister back in Michigan, who is just one of 13 siblings that Chris has. A few years ago Chris quit his corporate job at Microsoft to bring his twin boys around the country, logging about 50,0000 miles while driving around nearly the entire perimeter of the country. … Posted: Nov 10, 2006 | Post a commentNap #4Nov 9, 2006 from Seattle, WashingtonI left home two months ago today and I finally got to take my fourth nap, at least my fourth real nap. I’ve fallen asleep in a car here and there while in the passenger seat, passed out for a few minutes here and there along the way when I had the chance. But it’s been go go go!
Oh the naps I’ve been wanting to take! I took one in Milwaukee at Anah and Dan’s house in a chair in the corner after a long night and it was a gross rainy day. … Posted: Nov 9, 2006 | Post a commentSo, You're in Advertising?Nov 8, 2006 from Seattle, WashingtonI met Nicole at Belltown Bistro where the Seattle Ad Club was meeting. Nicole is just getting involved with them. Nicole and I studied abroad together two summers ago, but we also both have advertising degrees from Michigan State. We were also both involved in the American Advertising Federation and both presenters for the National Student Advertising Competition (though we were involved in different years).
So I mingled with all these Seattle advertisers, a lot of them work for Young and Rubicam and are working with Microsoft in one way or another. … Posted: Nov 8, 2006 | Post a comment |
