-Bugsy You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Stillwater Chicken WrapThursday, Mar 1, 2007 from Oklahoma City, OklahomaWhy I just named this blog entry that I don’t know. But I did have a delicious chicken caesar wrap at Go Bananas (thanks McKenzie) yesterday, next to the record shop. And since I’m not longer in Stillwater it’s a rap. So if that makes sense to anyone else I guess that’ll be a good thing. Stillwater was good to me. For all of my readers out there here is one way you can tell I’m having an awesome time without even reading the blogs. The less updates there are on the website where I am, the more fun I’m having, the busier I am, and the less attention the website gets. Of course that doesn’t go both ways. Some of the best and busiest weeks have been full of blog entries and photos. But if there isn’t much, it’s mean I’m having a good time. Don, Judy, Taylor, and Austin have been great hosts. They make up one of the most eclectic and well-rounded families I’ve stayed with. From vast musical talent, two of the smartest kids I’ve met on the trip, also involved in sports (tennis and soccer), they’re up there with the nicest people, great parents, and the great entrepreneur that Don is. As peaceful as they are I couldn’t imagine the slightest commotion among them, except for Taz the dog. He likes to bark up quite the storm. From one of the country’s nicest golf courses, Karsten Creek, to having a couple small skateboard sessions at the tiny skatepark it was a good variety of things in Stillwater. And of course I can’t leave out spending a night at the Happy Narwhal record store. One thing I get to find in every town is great restaurants. When in Stillwater I suggest Hideaway Pizza and you can’t miss the famous Eskimo Joe’s… they sell the 2nd most popular t-shirt in the world, second only to Hard Rock Cafe. But think about it, Hard Rock Cafe is all over the world, there is only one Eskimo Joe’s, so they take the cake.
Comment by aunt catherine From Grandville, MI Don,Judy,Taylor and Austin have modeled in the Eskimo Joe's catalog, they have some cool stuff. Don's mom and I have eaten there a few times when I was visiting. Hope you enjoy the oil well at the State Capitol in OKCity |
