You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Saturday, Mar 3, 2007 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

At six months it’s about time for a vacation… of some sort. My vacation was going to be in Dallas with my old buddies from MSU. However, plans change, weather changes, and change is the story of life. So here in Oklahoma City I think I might just chill. Maybe write all day in my journal until my fingers fall off, or else sleep all day. Hmmm… the sleep sounds a little more intriguing. After all, I haven’t had a real Saturday in I don’t know how long. A saturday when I can sleep in until I want. I still feel guilty that I should be writing dozens of blog entries and taking hundreds of photos. But I’m going to just ignore it for a while.

For a guy who refused to buy a cell phone and never had one I am now glued to mine. Even though I still despise it. I always have to have it on me, waiting for hosts to call, calling hosts, incase a newspaper calls. How nice would it be to throw it in a lake.

Afterall, I’m not really taking a vacation. I’m still writing, e-mailing, talking to future hosts. There’s a couple things I really want to see in Oklahoma City, but mostly I just want to do… hmmm nothing! No harm two take one or two days of vacation every six months. Right? I can justify it.

P.S. I think I’ll start naming more blog entries about a food that it reminds me of.

Hey, Bugsy, I know your feelings about cell phones, that's why I asked for the invite to gmail, because I couldn't do the cell thing!!! Tell ya what-- I'll go looking for someone's cell phone and throw it in the lake in honor of your wish!! LOL-- just kidding, but it's a tempting fantasy anyway! Keep up the great "ride" happy 6 month anniversary!
