You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared when launched in 2006. Back then, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few changes were made, but it appears as it did eleven years ago. A modern and responsive version is in the works. See what I've been up to for the last ten years at www.bugsy.me |

Breakdown of HomesMonday, Feb 26, 2007 from Stillwater, OklahomaHere’s the breakdown so far of where I’ve stayed… 32 houses: including town homes, victorian, old, new, etc. 14 apartments: from a pool house to and old place in Denver 5 motels/hotels: mostly to split up long drives, New York City, Utah, Wyoming, Oregon, California 3 Trailers: hey, nothing wrong with a trailer 1 B&B: Whispering Pines in Nebraska City 1 camp ground: Rapid City, SD Tonight may be another first, as I may stay at the Happy Narwhal Records shop in Stillwater with some people my own age who go to OSU. That should be some good variety. That’s where I write from now, good music, coffee shop next door, people hanging out. Staying at around 50 different homes, at an average of probably 3 people per household, that’s 150 people in 5.5 months that I’ve stayed with. On average they probably all introduce me to about 5 people. Five times 150… well that’s 750 people. Now throw in all the classes that I’ve talked to… that’s a few hundred people. Dozens of people who have seen the car and approached me in a parking lot or drive way. Thousands of people who have just seen the Compass on the road. Over 30 newspaper articles. Over a dozen radio interviews and 6 TV news stories. And assuming that everyone passes out the cards I give them…. there are 3,000 of those floating around the country so far. And oh yeah… 500 people who put up with my weekly newsletter every week. Needless to say… my brain is a wonderful little mess! It’s quite lovely to take all of that in. ![]() ![]() |
