You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Sunday Afternoon Shooting

Monday, Jan 15, 2007 from Albuquerque, New Mexico

Ahh, Sunday afternoon, a time to relax for a peaceful time and just enjoy. Or, you could round up seven people and go to the local Airsoft arena and get shot at all day and end up with tiny little red dots all over your body at the end of the day. So it was another first. Hardcore Airsoft fans have a really interesting subculture. It’s strange to think how passionate people get into buying army gear and pouring hundreds of dollars into guns to shoot other people while working on tactics and strategies. Though it was a lot of fun. But I didn’t stand a chance against those guys who are there all the time in their little green suits with armor and everything. You don’t even need armor, the fools. I hear more and more about companies bringing their employees to places like this as a team building exercise. I can see how it would work very well. And it’s definitely fun to go with a bunch of 12 to 15 year olds. I’ll be doing it again sometime.

After that I had another one of the best meals of the trip. I guess it wasn’t so much the meal as it was the scene. It was me and five 12-15 year olds roasting hot dogs in the front yard of the house in a pretty brisk 23 degrees. It’s been a while since I’ve had a roasted hot dog and it has never tasted so good. And of course it was topped off by some tasty s’mores. And then, more movies! Tonight’s movies were Ant Bully and Crank. That makes a total of six movies since getting here, this is good stuff. And talk about variety of movies!
