You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

One Year Ago

Saturday, Sep 29, 2007 from East Lansing, Michigan

One year ago today was my last night in White Bear Lake, MN, one of the best stops of the trip. What a memorable day that was. I drove my car in the high school homecoming parade, watched an awesome homecoming football game, and when on to have a very memorable night with a scary carbon monoxide incident. That was one year ago today, September 29th, 2006.

That’s just one example of looking back a year ago, one. I’ll be able to do that for every day this year. It’s incredible to have this trip so well documented through photos and words. I will always be able to go back to the dates of this trip and think where I was on this day or that day. To be honest it seems like much longer than a year ago. Like I’ve said before, I’m just one year old than when I left, but I feel ten years older.

Looking back a year ago today and all these feelings come back to me while looking at the photos and reading what I did that day. And now the Boise crowd is trying to convince me to fly to Boise for Halloween for our one-year reunion. What an even that would be.

Even cooler will be 20 years down the road when I can look at the dates and events of the trip. They will always be there. It seems that every day between September 2006 and September 2007 something incredible happened, or something new, or different, or maybe just one small thing I saw one year ago today.

Wow. Just the concept of looking back on what I was doing a year ago is fun, but for you when you did something different and amazing every day for a year... That is crazy! How cool is that, you have so many awesome memories. I wish I could look back every day and reminisce about such crazy memories..
