You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared when launched in 2006. Back then, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few changes were made, but it appears as it did eleven years ago. A modern and responsive version is in the works.

Getting Married in Kentucky

As I continue to hop from state to state, different states are represented by different demographics and such. Here in Kentucky it’s being represented by young couples who are all planning for their weddings this summer.
I’m staying with two lovely young ladies, Carrie and Beth. Carrie will graduate in May from Midway College with her nursing degree. Because of it I’ve hardly seen her the last two days because she has slept all day and worked back-to-back 7am to 7pm shifts at the hospital. It won’t be long before she’s everyone’s favorite nurse.
Beth finished her program at Asbury College in social work and is currently working full time as a nanny (and playing Guitar Hero). Beth and her soon-to-be-husband hope to be moved to New York City by summer where Beth will continue to be a nanny and Patrick will pursuit a public relations career in sports.
And then there are the weddings. Around the apartment are magazines like Modern Bride and Martha Stewart Weddings. Beth is working on a large stack of wedding invitations, carefully writing the address of each one in fancy cursive: first writing it in pencil, then tracing it over with a fine felt pen, then going back and erasing the pencil. Beth and Carrie talk about guests, honeymoons, who’s standing in the wedding, and the list goes on. So Carrie is marrying Dan. Beth is marrying Patrick. Dan’s brother Jared is getting married. And Beth’s brother is getting married. Oh and my own brother is getting married!
Well, I’m in no rush, but let me know if there are any takers out there. Now I have a better idea of what goes into planning a wedding and all that jazz. Let the wedding bells ring this summer! Congratulations to them all!
