A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Perfect Day to ExploreFriday, Sep 22, 2006 from Winterset, IowaToday’s weather is completely opposite of yesterday’s. It’s sunny and warm with bright blue sky and big white clouds spread throughout casting shadows on the fields of corn. Driving on the gravel roads from farm to farm is something I could do all day on a day like today. This morning I was in town and just picked up a couple of items at the store. On my way out I met Rusty and his parents, locals who were checking out the car. I told them my story and they sent me to their pastor who came here from Michigan just over a year ago. He brought me out for a great lunch at a local diner that’s built right into the pharmacy and offered to be my navigator to show me the one bridge I hadn’t been to yet. On our way he had me stop at his friend’s place, Jerry and Nancy, an older couple who if I’m not mistaken even had a small part in the movie. They invited me to see their backyard. I’m jealous. It’s the first time I’ve seen someone with a mini-golf course in their backyard. He even built a miniature covered bridge over one of the holes. I’m taking a few minutes to relax, grab a snack, and maybe just sit on a bench around town and see who’s around to talk to. |
