You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

One Huge Trip

Thursday, Nov 2, 2006 from Boise, Idaho

This trip is like nothing I’ve ever read, heard, experienced, or even dreamed about. I’m 62 days and 9 stats into the trip. I have 303 days and 41 states to go. Something about this week in Boise made me sit back and look at the big picture, which might be dangerous. All I can do is sit back and think, “Whoa, a full year of doing this is more than I could have dreamed up or ever prepared for.”

It’s not that I underestimate the trip. But wow I’m getting excited and it’s sinking in more of how big this is. Perusing the photos from only a month ago and it just seems like so long and there are hundreds of photos and stories since then.

Nine states complete. Nine has never been such a huge number to me when I sit back and look what I’ve done in that. As for 41, that number is gigantic. And there is an even bigger number, 365 days in a year, the approximate time of this trip. Now when you have “The Best Day Ever”, 365 is suddenly a number that I can’t even fathom. This is when I start to wonder if I truly am living my life to the fullest. But that’s much too big of a question.

Live hard. Sleep well. Enjoy.
