-Bugsy You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago. See what I've been up to for the last 16 years at www.bugsy.me |

Florida MilestoneWednesday, Apr 25, 2007 from Tampa, FloridaThere have been some big milestones on the trip and I’ve reached one of the biggest here in Tampa, FL. It’s not because it’s the 31st state or because there’s just one corner of the country left to see. It’s because I made it to my good friend Heather’s place. A year ago I was finishing my last week of college and getting ready to graduate. Through August I was working at Kresge Art Museum at MSU as the web designer. Heather was my boss and an awesome friend. At the same time I was leaving for my trip she and her husband Jason were moving to Florida. From the day I first revealed my “big plan” to Heather she was one of the most supportive and encouraging people. She had nothing but faith in me pulling it off the entire time. Every day at work we would bounce ideas back and forth. In the end she would become responsible for giving a title to the trip. When I found out Heather was moving to Florida I told her right away that I would be swinging by when I get in the area. I didn’t know how long it would take or what state it would be, but 31 states later and almost 8 months I made it. It has come a very long ways since those early days when Heather and I first started to brainstorm.
Comment by Rocky From Tampa, FL Arrgg! Why didn't you swing by? I could have had some pasty's cooking and everything. Are you coming back this way?
Comment by Linda Tynon From Nebraska City, NE Buggsy, I called my friend Paula in Key West. We worked together for the Delta Connection there and traveled alot together. I told her you were in town and she said she would be glad to show you around. Her cell phone is 305-240-1320. She is a massage therapist and lots of fun too. Linda |
