Yoga 101Friday, Jan 19, 2007 from Colorado Springs, ColoradoJoani and Truel offered to take me to their yoga class that they attend regularly. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go at first, mostly because my other option was to sleep in and that sounded much more appealing. However, after driving 12,000 miles in four months I figured some yoga might be good for me. I’ve been a bit of a blob on this trip and haven’t gotten many physical activities in, if anything I owed it to my body. And of course this trip is about trying new things. So there I was yoga 101. However, I think that was even a little too advanced for me. The instructor had to correct my stance on numerous occasions. All in all I felt quite spectacular afterwards. But they say that when I wake up tomorrow I may be quite sore. And of course the first thing I do after a yoga class is spend another five hours scrunched up in the same position driving. The Compass is quite cozy though. I think there have been some days where I spent over 10 hours sitting and didn’t feel sore one bit. But there is that thing that guys’ have about sitting on their wallet for many hours and after years having hip or back problems. So that’s one fix I made, no more sitting on my wallet. Anyways… even after yoga I couldn’t wait to get back into the lounge seat of the Compass and drive. Today’s destination, Colorado Springs where I got to meet up with Rice’s mom (Jen) and staying with her brother Brian and his fiancé Lindsey. So more ramblings and more Colorado! …one of my absolute favorite states (at least those I’ve been to, I only have 32 more to go!). |
