You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Love From Home

Tuesday, Nov 28, 2006 from San Luis Obispo, California

It’s a great treat to get pictures from friends and family on this trip. I love getting e-mails from people who just want to say hi and see how everything is going and I love to answer those. Getting photos from home home is the best! I thought I would share a few with everyone from home that my parents have sent me recently.

My family rocks. They sent pictures to me on Thanksgiving with a sign that says “Happy Thanksgiving. We miss you!” It absolutely made my day. Although I’m a couple thousand miles away it made me freel right at home. Thanks Mom, Dad, Adam and Dusty.

This one shows more of my mom’s personality, and maybe she is mocking me from a few of the photos on the site.

At the dinner table, just the three of them, with the fourth seat empty… awww! But it’s home, just seeing the dining room lights up my face.

Ha ha ha!! This photo cracks me up. I burst out laughing when I came to this one. They all dressed up in traditional UP hunting gear. It’s especially weird to see my brother and mother wearing it. Well done!

My dad’s hunting camp. This is the way a cabin should be. My dad loves being here. It’s his place to go out on his own, enjoy some peace, relax, and do what he loves, and to be outside in nature. A great little cabin.

My dad’s successful hunt this year. Our refridgerator back home is full of venison. Tasty! Mom has all kinds of great recipes for it.

A taste of a UP storm.

Finally, home sweet home. Though this was posted earlier and taken a while ago it’s where I love to be. Seeing snow around the house reminds me not of cold, but how warm of a house it is, the fireplace, warm cookies, and a loving family.

That is so sweet! Glad you had a great Thanksgiving even though you were far away from home! PS I am still reading your blog faithfully, but my laptop broke last week and I need to get another one!

Your family looks like a fun bunch to hang with. But I'm pretty sure my brother would be trying to find a way to steal your dad's hunting cabin. He and my dad are hunting deer in the Black Hills right now.
