You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared in 2006/07. At the time, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few backend changes were made to keep the site functioning, but it appears just as it did 16 years ago.

Dear Internet

Thursday, Feb 22, 2007 from Dover, Arkansas

Dear Internet,

Thank you for everything you do. I really like you a lot and I think you are really neat and cool. You make my life easier and more fun. It is really nice how you help me keep in touch with friends and family back home. And I get to hear from different people all across the country. You are my best friend. I like you a lot.

Your pal,
Bugsy

This very blog entry is a result of the Internet and asking my friend John through instant messenger what I should write about tonight. Without the Internet this trip would be a lot different. It gives the world instant access to what I’m doing. If something falls through with a host I can get online send out a few e-mails, look up a few phone numbers, and I’m all set within a few minutes.

One of the coolest things about the trip to this day is hearing from people across the country. I see a new name in my e-mail and can’t wait to open it (that is after I sort out all the spam, but I won’t get into the negative internet stuff). I never know who it’s going to be, someone who has seen my car, a newspaper article, found it on Google, or heard about it through a friend.

This trip is a great testimony of how technology can be used as an awesome tool. With the World Wide Web you can make anything happen. The next thing is to come across a GPS unit for all these amazing waterfalls in Arkansas and to assist me with Tim Ernst’s nature guides.

Thank you Internet for making a big dream even bigger.

HAHAHAH- Nice to see you took my advice! The internet blows my mind on a daily basis. Even-though it's only been is most households for a few years, it's insane to think where we'll be in 10! I can't wait!
