Darts and PoolTuesday, Aug 14, 2007 from Bellbrook, OhioThe match is 3-3. Jim and I played six games and were split even. We each won a game of cricket, 201, and 301. We needed a tiebreaker. I said first person to hit a 20 can choose what game for the tiebreaker. He missed, I hit. My game of choice: 301. Well I don’t play darts often, in fact hardly at all. I was getting smoked. Jim was within just a few points of zero and I was at a massive 82. The pressure was on. I had been missing triple twenties all night. This time I nailed it. Now a reasonable 22 to go with two darts left. I knocked out one 11, then the second. Game over (we didn’t play any of that fancy double-in double-out stuff). It was another great comeback on the trip. There have been several, all while being the visiting opponent. Jim gave me a good challenge. However, I have to say with my highly competitive nature I take an evil pleasure being the non-suspecting guest that’s just passing through and the kicking butt in a game of darts, pool, or bowling. The challenging part is I only participate in these things a few times a year. There was a great dart game in Stamford, CT where me and my teammate whooped up. I smoked Andrew in pool while in Helena, MT. But nothing was better than the only time I went bowling on the trip, in Boise. Kristy’s mom whooped up in the first game and in the second game I was falling behind. I guess I’m somewhat of a performer under pressure and like to get behind for the suspense. I finished the game with four strikes in a row to take the win for that round. It was a good night! Believe me, I’m not bragging, because I’m just not that good. But I’m a competitor who has been on a roll during a year where things have gone my way! However, if someone is up to the challenge when I make it back home to Michigan, call me up and we’ll play a game of bowling, darts, or pool. ![]() ![]() |
