You're viewing the original Hometown Invasion Tour website as it appeared when launched in 2006. Back then, a site built with tables and flash was commonplace. A few changes were made, but it appears as it did eleven years ago.

Things were very unexpected while in the Lake Villa and Fox Lake area. I’m fortunate that on the kindness of other people I was able to still have a roof over my head and some great food. Kim and Jeff took great care of me for the evening and morning while I was there. Kim is a real estate agent who works from home and Jeff owns the local marina.
That evening they took me to The Sausage Fest, as they call it. Every year they get together with a few friends and family and cook out down at the marina. It was a little awkward, I didn’t expect to be there and I was still a little distraught. Nobody there knew who I was, but they took me in. They wanted to hear my story and make sure that my stomach was as full as possible. It was a great visit with some really good people.
The next morning Kim prepared me one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. Kim and Jeff really went out of their way during their busy schedules to make sure I felt at home. From there I took the train into Chicago. It was the easiest thing to do for an unexpected trip, about a 90 minute train ride. -xo
